Mentor Application



This is the 2009-2010 Mentor Application. Please complete all of the application below to be considered for our program.



Please send the following to the Memphis Teacher Residency offices:


•    A letter explaining why you are interested in serving as an MTR mentor.  Please include an explanation of how you view the role of a mentor for a resident different than that of a cooperating teacher for a student teacher.   
•    Copy of your current teaching license   
•    Resume   
•    Letter of recommendation from current principal   
•    Letter of recommendation from the parent/guardian of a current student   
•    Letter of recommendation from a colleague (This can be another teacher within your school or another administrator within your school/district.)


By applying to become an MTR mentor you agree to:   


•    An interview prior to selection   
•    An unannounced classroom observation prior to selection   
•    Attend a 5-day training July 13 – 17, 2009   
•    Monthly after school mentor meetings throughout the 2009 – 2010 school year.
